At HISTRICA breeding, we are committed to protecting the confidentiality of the information entrusted to us by our customers. In particular, we are committed to ensuring the appropriate protection and use of our customers’ personal data (i.e., any information that directly or indirectly identifies you) collected via our website www.mainecoon-histrica.eu, our public events, or our services in general.
This statement aims to inform you about how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data, as well as how to exercise your rights, in accordance with Data Protection Legislation. Data Protection Legislation means Regulation (European Union) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (the GDPR), as well as any other applicable laws, regulations, and sector-specific recommendations containing rules relating to the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, as these laws and recommendations may be supplemented, amended, replaced, or repealed.

2. General information on our personal data processing
This section aims to present the main categories of processing of our customers’ personal data that take place at Histrica. For more information on a specific processing operation, we invite you to refer to the dedicated notice for that processing operation. As part of our business, we may collect and process your personal data directly from you, either through the establishment of a contract (for example, the use of one of our services, purchases made on our website), or through our legitimate interest (in particular, interaction with our website), or through your consent (for example, contact regarding offers, promotions, and articles published via newsletters).
We may also process your personal data when necessary to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation to which we are subject.
In particular, we process your data for the following purposes:
• Manage orders placed on the website
• Manage our website
• Manage and track events organized by Histrica, including competitions
• Ensure consumer protection
Some information may be useful to us, particularly for statistical analyses of aggregated data, in order to improve our website. If necessary, we may use this data to contact our customers in the event of a health risk or technical malfunction.
For these purposes, the following recipients may receive your personal data:
• Service providers, including but not limited to IT or Site management service providers, repairers, financial, tax, or legal advisors who process your data on our instructions;
• Governmental, judicial, or supervisory authorities;
• Any other companies or entities within the Histrica group.
In the context of these transfers to third-party recipients, we undertake to limit the personal data transmitted, to ensure the confidentiality of this data, and to work only with third-party service providers with a level of commitment to Data Protection Legislation equivalent to that of Histrica.
3. Profiling
Histrica does not carry out any individualized profiling activities within the meaning of data protection on its customers based on the data collected in the context of the activities described above.
4. Data Retention
In general, Histrica retains your personal data until the purpose for which it was collected has been fulfilled.
In particular:
• Financial data is retained for a period of 10 years to meet a legal obligation.
• Contest entry forms are destroyed two weeks after the event.
• Website browsing data is aggregated and may be retained for up to two years.
• Any personal data required to assert or defend the rights of Histrica or its staff is retained for the applicable limitation period (generally two years).

5. Individual Rights
Any individual affected by any of the activities described above and whose personal data is processed by Histrica has the following rights:
• Right to access and information. You may obtain, as soon as possible, communication of your personal data that is being processed, as well as any information on the origin of this personal data.
• Right to rectification. You also have the right to rectify any personal data concerning you that is inaccurate.
• Right to erasure. You may request the erasure without undue delay of your personal data when the use or other processing of this personal data is no longer necessary for the purposes described above, in particular when consent to a specific processing operation has been withdrawn or when the processing is not or no longer legitimate for other reasons.
• Right to restriction of processing. When the accuracy of personal data is contested, the processing is unlawful, or you have objected to the processing of your personal data, you may request the restriction of the processing of this personal data. This means that, with the exception of storage, personal data will only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims, for the protection of the rights of other natural or legal persons, or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or another Member State of the European Union. In the event that processing is restricted, you will be informed before the restriction of processing is lifted.
• Right to object to processing. You may object to the processing of your personal data that is based on the legitimate interests pursued by us or by a third party. In this case, we will no longer process this personal data unless our compelling legitimate interests override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims. You also have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for marketing purposes. Your right to object is not subject to any formalities.
• Right to data portability. When the processing of your data is based on consent or is necessary for the performance of a contract and the processing is carried out by automated means, you also have the right to data portability for the information you have provided to us. This means you can obtain a copy of your personal data in a commonly used electronic format so that you can manage it and transmit it to another controller.
• Right to lodge a complaint with the Luxembourg data protection authority (the Commission Nationale pour la Protection des Données – CNPD) or another European data protection authority (e.g., in your country of residence).
